Song Spotlight: Dua Lipa's "Houdini"

    Dua Lipa is a pop star that wants to be a pop star. Remember the days when record labels were building up top female stars like Britney, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry? All eyes were on them to see what they would do next for the pop scene. Dua Lipa is like that. She's in a league of her own, and that shows here on her lead single for her 3rd LP, "Houdini." 

    

    "Houdini" is fantastic. She took her Future Nostalgia sound, spiced it up with a cool 70s-inspired guitar, and has fully made vintage her own. The song is really exciting. I think all eyes were on Lipa to see what she would do next, and she did not let expectations down. It's going to be really interesting to see where she goes from here with new singles because she's setting herself up to take a hard right into some new territory that will fit her like a glove.

    Look forward to "Houdini" burning up the charts for months. I think this one could be that elusive Hot 100 number one hit for her.
