Top Pops: Ariana Grande's eternal sunshine

Welcome to another new segment called "Top Pops!" Where we will discuss chart toppers and albums from top artists! For our inaugural "Top Pops" we have Ariana Grande!
I feel like Ariana Grande releasing her seventh studio album, eternal sunshine, is the first major pop event of the year. And wow, does it impress! The 90s influence is all over this one. To be honest, I was expecting many more songs like "yes, and?" so if you were as well be warned because there is nothing else like it on the album.

We get the intro working together with the first real song, "bye," and it sets us up for a blast. "bye" is probably my new favorite here. Max Martin comes in and does his job like business as usual and he doesn't disappoint. "We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)" is another standout here.

I'm in the love with the first 75% of the album. I feel like the only let downs are the last few tracks. They're not bad. They're just not the knockouts the front part of the album are.

We get to see a side of Grande here that we're not used to. Given the circumstances surrounding her life since late last year, it's no surprise we're seeing this album as a response. It's her telling her side of the story while reminding us that she's human even though she's a mega star. Vulnerability in pop is nothing new, but vulnerability from a pop star that was standing on rocky ground due to the messiest mess you can mess is something to tune in to.

So if you like cutting edge pop with a fun 90s throwback, eternal sunshine is the album for you. It's pop by a pop master done well in a poppy way!
