Music Mysteries: Paula Abdul's Plane Crash

Paula Abdul has had many hits including 6 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. She's had a very long career as a choreographer including choreographing for superstars like Janet Jackson. She is also known for her stint as a judge on American Idol back in its heyday. Needless to say, Paula Abdul is a household name for a variety of reasons.
And Abdul is the subject of today's Music Mysteries! Abdul stated sometime in the 90s that she, and 7 other people, had a plane crash in 1992/1993 during her Under My Spell Tour. The issue? There were no reports of a crash every happening. And the speculation is wild on this one, guys.
Abdul has always struck me as a very kind person. And while looking into this mystery, several people gave accounts of her being nice. However, rumors have always followed Abdul around as being a troubled person. Gossip magazines were ferocious to her during her Idol days speculating drug and alcohol abuse amongst other things
I guess speculation plays such a large part in this because plane crashes are supposed to be reported to the Federal Aviation Administration. These reports must include every person involved in the accident along with everything else you can imagine like location and what caused the plane to crash. The FAA never reported a plane crash that involved Abdul. Which is mind blowing because the media would create a sensation over a plane crash involving an A-list celebrity with multiple number one hits.
So what does all of this mean?
Abdul has stated that this plane crash put her out of work for 7 years, and she had to have 15 surgeries as a result of the crash. She stated the plane made an emergency landing in a corn field. The FAA has no record of this, and people have brought up that NDAs must have been signed. Others say it doesn't matter if NDAs had been signed that the FAA would still have to report it.
Even though Abdul was "out of work" for 7 years, she still put out an album just a few years after the incident, Head Over Heels in 1995. She also choreographed for film and theater productions. She released a dance work-out video in 1995. She appeared in a film too.
I'm guessing that a lot went on behind the scenes as Abdul was also treated for an eating disorder around this time. She mixes up the timeline sometimes like when she was "out of work for 7 years and reappeared on Idol." Perhaps she just wants to forget about that period of her life.
She was knocked unconscious during the crash, maybe when she woke up people just told her the plane crashed and gave her details of it. Maybe her record label just wanted some PR and get her name into headlines once more. The music industry is brutal for careers, there's no telling what all has truly happened if anything at all.
Either way, it's insane to think that all of this happened and not one report was made about it.
